Happy Belated Perihelion Day

Yesterday the Earth made its closest approach to the Sun for this year. 91,399,800 miles. That's a little too close for comfort for this earthling.

Does the Earth's distance to the sun have any affect on the weather, or are Republicans still the sole cause of global warming? Just curious.
